Pinus sylvestris multi-stem

Scots pine in multi-stem form, with an evergreen structure of great architectural impact, characteristic orange-toned bark and sculptural silhouette in every season.

Multi-Stem Evergreen Decorative bark

Pinus sylvestris

Suited for hospitality gardens, prestige entrances, parks and projects where a permanent structure, year-round bark colour and sculptural silhouette are wanted without relying on bloom.

With an irregular, open canopy — sometimes umbrella-shaped — it keeps its evergreen, bluish to greyish-green needle foliage all year round. As it matures, the bark of the upper branches takes on a characteristic orange tone, which becomes its main ornamental interest. It grows well in full sun, in well-drained soil (it adapts easily to poor, sandy soils) and, once established, needs almost no irrigation.

In multi-stem form it typically reaches 6 to 10 metres in height at maturity, with a canopy that opens up progressively, so it benefits from generous space around the trunk. It is also one of the most wind- and coastal salt-tolerant conifers.

Because of this resilience, it is frequently chosen for coastal or exposed-site projects, where other conifers of similar size would struggle to establish.
