Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about ordering, delivery and technical specification of multi-stem trees.

About Âmbarplant and the service

Does Âmbarplant sell to private individuals?

No. Âmbarplant is an exclusively B2B supplier. We work with landscaping companies, landscape architects, municipalities, property developers and other professionals in the sector. If you are a private individual planning a private garden, our advice is to contact a local landscaping company who can then purchase the plants from us.

How do I place an order?

The process is simple: contact us by email (geral@ambarplant.pt) or via the contact form, indicating the desired species, size, quantity and delivery location. We respond with current availability, equivalent options and a price proposal. There is no online price catalogue; each order is quoted individually based on volume and specifications.

What is the minimum order?

We do not have a fixed minimum by number of specimens, but we prefer to work with project orders. For very small quantities (1–2 specimens), the logistics cost may make the order impractical; in that case we recommend contacting us directly to assess the best solution together.

Do you export to other countries?

Yes. We have a supplier network and logistics experience in Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany. For projects outside mainland Portugal, contact us with the project details so we can assess feasibility and delivery conditions.

Technical specification and sizes

How is the size of a multi-stem tree measured?

The size is measured in centimetres of circumference of the main trunk, at 1 metre above ground level. For multi-stem specimens, the measurement is taken on the thickest trunk. In our proposals we always also indicate the total height (in metres) and the minimum number of trunks per specimen.

Is it possible to see photos of the specimens before confirming the order?

Yes, for larger orders or when visual consistency between specimens is critical (hotels, condominiums, commercial spaces), we provide individual photographs of specimens in stock. This pre-selection must be agreed at the proposal stage.

Do the species in the catalogue always correspond to available stock?

The catalogue shows the species we regularly supply, but actual availability (sizes, quantities, delivery timing) varies throughout the year. The best way to confirm current availability is to contact us directly. We typically respond on the same business day.

What sizes are usually available?

The most common sizes in our stock range from 10–12 cm to 20–25 cm in circumference (main trunk). Specimens of larger size (25+ cm) exist but are scarcer and require advance ordering. For each species, the exact sizes available are confirmed at the time of enquiry.

Delivery and logistics

Do you deliver across the whole country?

Yes. We deliver throughout mainland Portugal. Deliveries are made by truck with crane or platform suitable for handling large-sized plants. For locations with restricted access (historic centres, inner courtyards), it is important to inform us in advance for proper planning.

What is the usual delivery time?

For plants in stock, the delivery time is usually 2 to 4 weeks from order confirmation, depending on volume and location. For plants that need to be imported from our European network, timescales are longer, between 6 and 12 weeks. For projects with a defined construction date, we recommend confirming availability at least 3 months in advance.

Does delivery include planting?

No. We deliver the plants by truck to the construction site. Planting and installation are the responsibility of the client or their landscaping team. If necessary, we can advise on conditions for receiving and temporary storage of plants until planting.

How are the plants transported?

Plants are transported with a root ball in a container or bare-rooted, depending on the species and time of year. The type of presentation (root ball, bare root, pot) is specified in each proposal. For spring/summer plantings, transport is almost always with a root ball to maximise the take rate.

Commercial matters

Do you have an online price list?

We do not publish prices online. The price depends on multiple variables: species, size, quantity, season and delivery conditions. Each proposal is prepared individually. Contact us with the details of your requirements and we will send a proposal on the same business day.

What is the response time for quote requests?

We respond to quote requests on the same business day, usually within a few hours. In the event of uncertainty about the availability of specific species or high volumes, we may need 24–48 hours to confirm with our producer network.

Do you issue invoices with company VAT number?

Yes. The entire commercial process is carried out with complete tax documentation. Please provide the company VAT number at the time of ordering.

Ready to place an order?
