Acer palmatum 'Osakazuki'

More vigorous and upright than many other Acer palmatum cultivars, it keeps bright green foliage through spring and summer, turning an intense, uniform scarlet-red in autumn — considered one of the most spectacular autumn colours in the genus. It prefers part shade in warmer climates and fertile, moist but well-drained soil.
It can reach 6 to 8 metres in height in mature multi-stem form, taller than the average red-leaved cultivar, which makes it suited both as a standout stand-alone specimen and in larger-scale plantings and avenues.
It is often chosen by landscape architects precisely for the predictability of its autumn colour, a relevant factor in projects where the seasonal effect is a central part of the concept.
